“The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain” -Khalil Gibran
On Saturday, May 21st, from 12pm-6pm with dinner and fire to follow, we invite 12 participants to gather on sacred land in Stokesdale NC, as we turn our attention to the grief we carry for self, community, and world. Working with our sorrows composts them into fertile soil. Sharing our deep emotional selves brings us into the circle of restoration, into the arms of the sacred. Utilizing the potent tools of writing practice, singing, movement, breathwork, and ritual, we will build a community of concerned hearts and coax our stories of loss and suffering into the visible world. Grief has always been communal in our long story as a species. Together, we will enter the original healing matrix and offer one another a refuge safe enough to allow multiple layers of grief to be touched and released.
This gathering will include:
- Writing practices to assist in opening our stories of loss
- Teachings to develop awareness of cultural obstacles to grief such as private pain
- Somatic practices to deepen trust in our emotional and body wisdom
- A breath session
- Community witnessing and small group sharing
- A closing ritual
COST: $145* (includes light snack and a vegetarian, gluten-free dinner)
Please register below.
*if you feel called to this work and finances are prohibitive please reach out to Summer Estes at [email protected] or Samantha DiRosa at [email protected]
